Middle School Sports
Runnin' Barons win region, girls finish second.

Brody Gibbs and Eliot Lynch.

The MGMSAA Region Cross Country Championships were held Tuesday afternoon in Cochran. The girls finished region runner up. The boys won region and had the two top individuals in Brody Gibbs (first) and Eliot Lynch (second.) The season wraps up this Saturday at the Middle School State Cross Country Championships. The JV runs at 12:25 pm with varsity races starting at 12:50.

Comeback attempt falls short at A.C.E.

BCHS trailed 7-0 at A.C.E. Tuesday night. They scored four ruins and had the tying run at the plate with two outs in the seventh but lost seven four. The Lady Royals had four hits, committed three errors. Kaylee Rae Barrs was 2 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI. Bleckley closes out the regular season this Thursday against Hawkinsville. Senior night ceremonies are at 5 pm, game time 5:30.

The October 13 showing of "I can only imagine" at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church has been cancelled as there will be a dedication ceremony for a new building on their campus at 5 pm.

Bleckley FCA helps provide water to Hazlehurst.



(Photos courtesy Facebook.) This past Friday, members of the Bleckley FCA loaded a truck with over 275 cases of water that were delivered to Jeff Davis High School in Hazlehurst. Donations of water had been collected during the week in what was a joint effort between the Bleckley FCA chapters (middle and high school) and the Flint River FCA. Hazlehurst was one of the harder hit areas by Hurricane Helene.
