Proclamation signed, people recognized at city council meeting.

At Tuesday night’s city council meeting, Mayor Carla Coley signed her first proclamation. It was one to declare February Black History Month. She’s pictured with Bleckley NAACP President Gary Warner
Several Cochran Fire Department firefighters were recognize for their efforts in pulling a woman from a burning building early Christmas morning. Life saving awards and commendations were handed out. Pictured along with Chief Brock Wilcher and family are (not in order) Sergeant Colton Kleinfeld, firefighter Quang Nguyen, firefighter Thong Nguyen, firefighter Nicholas Mleczko, firefighter Michael Angus.
Two firefighters were also honored as employees of the quarter. The two are brothers, Thong Nquyen and Quang Nguyen. They’re pictured with Chief Brock Wilcher.

Four BCHS athletes to continue their careers at the next level.

Four BCHS athletes will be continuing their careers at the collegiate level as all of them signed their national letters of intent in a ceremony held Wednesday afternoon in the BCHS auditorium. Those signing were (L-R)Terrollieo Brimidge, football, St/ Norbert College. Tug Pasny, football., Chicago State University. Connor Cairrney, Washington University. Emmie Williams, softball, Brewton Parker College.

Today's BCHS tennis matches at Stratford Academy were cancelled due to rain. Bleckley begins region play tomorrow at Dodge County. It starts at 4 pm.
