Bleckley Fire Chief attends Firefighters Day in Atlanta.

Bleckley County Fire Department Chief and South Central Georgia Fire Chief’s Association President Matt Kelley along with Vice President Chief Casey Wright attended the 54th Firefighter Recognition Day at the Georgia State Capitol. The two had the opportunity to speak to legislators on issues regarding fire service.

Limited live coverage because I'm sick.

I missed the middle school boys playoff basketball game at Dublin yesterday because I had to see my primary care person. I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. Because the weather forecast is calling for cold temps tomorrow, I don't really want to risk covering high school baseball at Northside tomorrow. My plan is to cover basketball Friday night and Senior Night and the Hall of Fame induction Saturday.

Basketball teams lose at Southwest.

The Lady Royals lost 42-33 at Southwest Tuesday night. Evian Beck and Camya Harris scored 10 points each. The Royals scored five fourth quarter points in losing 64-38. Jason McNulty scored 16 points. It will be Senior Night when BC hosts A.C.E. February 6. Girls tip at 6 pm with boys to follow. Senior night recognition will take place between games.
