New exhibit opening in MGA Peacock Gallery.

"Design on the Edge" a display showcasing graphic design submissions from across the United States will open Monday in the Peacock Gallery at Middle Georgia State University. The opening ceremony will begin at 6 pm. Peacock Gallery is located in Russell Auditorium on the first floor.

New ladder truck welcomed to Cochran Fire Department.



Cochran Fire Department held a “Push In” ceremony for a new ladder truck Friday afternoon. It was attended by city and county officials as well as members of the Chamber of Commerce. There were remarks from Chief Brock Wilcher, who spoke on the truck would do, as well as Mayor Billy Yeomans. Members of the fire department then got behind the truck to symbolically “push” it into the station (the engine was running and was driven.) The ceremony dates back to the 1800’s when equipment would literally have to be pushed into the station because horses couldn’t pull it.

Tennis teams win at Telfair County.

BCHS tennis traveled to McRae to take on Telfair County Thursday afternoon. The girls won 3-2. Wins came via Payton Carden, Anna Grace Dykes and Taylor Herndon, and Kiley Pilgrim and McKinley Gray. The boys won 4-1. Wins came from Deacon Farrell, Reagan Scott, Jay Faulk and Parker Barrs, and Bo Yearty and Kolton Zackman. BC returns to action February 12 at Coffee County.
