BCHS One Act takes their first "step in time."



Bleckley County High School One Act had their first community performance of this year's competition piece "Mary Poppins JR." The play is based on both the Disney movie as well as the Broadway musical. Choreography director and one act alum Spencer Maddox called it the biggest production they'd ever undertaken during pre-performance comments. The show features familiar songs from both the movie and musical and a huge cast. There will be another community performance Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. BCHS will host region October 20, they go on at approximately 10:15 am. Admission is free, per GHSA rules, no photography or videography is permitted during any Friday performance.

Meet the Candidates event held.

The Bleckley NAACP held a "Meet the Candidates" community outreach event Saturday afternoon at the Jaycee Barn. People could talk to candidates for local office as well as enjoy lunch provided by the Bleckley NAACP. Another Meet the Candidates event sponsored by the Cochran Bleckley Chamber of Commerce will be held October 19 at 6:45 in the city auditorium.
