Associate Nursing Degree students receive pins during ceremony.

(Photo courtesy news release.) Mellie Anderson and Kayla Jones of Bleckley were among 47 Oconee Fall Line Technical College Associate Degree in Nursing students to receive their pin during a ceremony held July 26. The ADN Bridge Program began in August 2018 and allows Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and paramedics who have at least one-year in-field experience to obtain certification to become Registered Nurses.

BCHS Beta Club named National Beta School of Distinction.

The Bleckley County High School Beta Club has been named a 2022-23 National Beta School of Distinction. According to the National Beta Club Wiki, the honor is "awarded to school districts who demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, leadership, development and service involvement."

Football season tickets to go on sale next week.

Season tickets for the 2023 season will go on sale July 31 in the high school office from 8 am to 3 pm. Cost is $60 and includes both the August 4 and 11 scrimmages.

Local student receives nursing pin during ceremony.

(Photo courtesy news release.) Summer Ridley was one of 26 Oconee Fall Line Technical College practical nursing students to receive their pin during a ceremony held July 25 held on the Sandersville campus. The ceremony is held yearly to symbolize the nursing students’ completion of the educational requirements needed to sit for the state board licensure examination and to welcome them into the family of nurses.

Lady Royals have final tuneup before regular season starts.


BCHS Softball was at Southern Pines Tuesday afternoon for a scrimmage against ECI. It gave players a chance to work at different positions and allowed coaches to get one last look at players before the season began. Bleckley opens the regular season August 3 at Telfair County.
