BCHS Handbook updated, personnel moves, at called BOE meeting.

The Bleckley County Board of Education met in called session June 29. At the meeting, they approved an update to the BCHS Student Handbook regarding late work. They also accepted the resignation of teacher/coach Jacob Byram and released him from his FY24 contract. Kolby Kinsler was named the new golf coach. Visit Website ]

BCHS to hold first ever "Royal University."

Bleckley County High School will hold "Royal University," an event designed to help parents learn how to aid in their student's success while at BCHS. There will be sessions for each grade. Ninth, July 17. Tenth, July 18. 11th, July 19. 12th, July 20. All sessions are at 6 pm and will be held in the high school auditorium. Kids show their talent in theatre camp production of Annie.



Before Friday night's Summer Theatre Camp performance of "Annie Jr" both Mi Waters and Kelli Greer spoke. Greer mentioned how her one act students had benefitted from being at theatre camp. Greer may have more future talent coming as the show's cast did a great job with the songs and scenes. There are shows tomorrow at 2 and 7 pm at House of Grace.

What's closed for July 4?

As July 4 is a federal holiday, federal, state, and local government offices (IE: City Hall, Bleckley County Courthouse) will be closed that Tuesday. Banks will be closed, no mail delivery. Some local businesses will be closed that week (IE: Needle N/A Haystack, Scott's BBQ.) Grocery stores, Walmart, will be open. There will be no organized high school sports practices as July 3-9 is the second GHSA "Dead Week."
