BCHS recognizes students who will be serving the nation.

Athletic signings happen often at high schools such as Bleckley County High School. But on Wednesday afternoon, BCHS held a different kind of signing ceremony. In reality, it wasn’t so much a signing as it was a recognition ceremony for 10 students who would be joining the armed services upon graduation. It was organized by Graduation Coach Matt Gibbs.
The ceremony featured remarks from Gibbs, teacher Ray Martin (who served in the Air Force) as well as principal Dr. Brad Knox. Though not all could attend, some of the recruiters were in attendance. They went on stage to stand with students as they were recognized.

The students signed congratulatory letters thanking them for their service. Those signing were: Hailey Brady, Kaitlyn P Phillips, Kaitlin Stone, Patrinna Taylor, Ashton Dyer- Army. Tyler Wilcox- Air Force Academy. Devonta Ates- Air Force. Christopher Taylor- Marines. Dayanna Smith- Army National Guard. Jacob Swenson, Navy
Teacher and District Athletic Operations person Heather Davis said a prayer for the students.
