Local church offers Sunday School class for special needs children.

The class is offered at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Sundays at 9:45 am. Services are held at 8:45 and 11 am.

BCMS tennis teams to open playoffs versus Jeff Davis.

BCMS girls tennis will open the MGMSAA playoffs at Jeff Davis March 24. The boys will host Jeff Davis March 25. Start time for both is 4 pm.

Boys track wins region title.

(Photos contributed.) The BCMS boys track team won the MGMSAA region title Thursday at West Laurens Middle School. Brody Gibbs was high point champion. First place finishers for the boys were as follows. Trent Fountain- discus, shot put (set new school record.) Matthew Adams- 400 meter run. Brody Gibbs- 800, 1600, and 3200 meter runs. Eliot Lynch, Jasper Faulk, Gibbs, and Adams, 4x400 meter run. Girls top finishers were Haley Arnold in the 800 meter run and Kayleigh Sanders in the 1600 meter run.

Royals pound West Laurens.

Brady Brannon had five no-hit innings, striking out eight, and also went 2 for 3 with an RBI, as BCHS won easily at West Laurens 14-0 Thursday evening. Clayton Beck was 3 for 4 with an RBI. Braegan Cravey went 2 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI. Walker Boatright was 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI. Brody Fleming went 1 for 2. Region play resumes for BC when they travel to Northeast March 25. Game time is 4:30 pm.

Soccer teams sweep Washington County.



Legacy Mathews and Ellen Arnold had two goals each as the Lady Royals beat Washington County 6-0 at home Thursday afternoon. Claira Lynch and Kylie Reid also scored. McKenzie Perkins had two assists. Riley Lawson had a hat trick, and Greyson Arnold scored twice, as the Royals won 5-1. BC travels to Dooly County tomorrow. Girls play at 5 pm with boys to follow.
