BCHS Golf Team fundraisers.

The BCHS Golf Program has two ongoing fundraisers. Team members are selling raffle tickets for gift cards to area meat markets. Eight cards totaling $100 in value will be raffled off. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from any golf team member or by emailing coach Dave Wiegert (dwiegert@bleckleyschools.org) by October 23. The teams will also have a 50/50 raffle at this Thursday’s football game versus Dodge County. Cost is $1 per ticket and will be sold until halftime. Winner will split the pot with the teams. Proceeds from both fundraisers will go toward defraying costs for the upcoming season. BCHS Golf appreciates your support.

Opening Day, upcoming world series in Cochran, discussed at rec. board meeting.

Monday's monthly Cochran Bleckley Rec. Department board meeting lasted less than an hour. But it was an informative one as things such as opening day, Cochran being the host for the 2022 6 and 8u Dixie Softball World Series, as well as plans to ensure players can watch Thursday's Dodge-BCHS football game were discussed.

Bleckley County Middle School announced their Social Contract Champions for September. Sixth grade: Aliya Jenkins, Julia Arnold, Jacob Skipper, Carina Elvine, Natalie Kitchens, Everette Childers, Isaiah Grissett, and Kamarion McClinton.
Seventh grade: Demariyus Walters, Scout Totty, Claira Lynch, Kylie Wilson, Ashlyn Bivona, Ateriyah Taylor, Whitney Hatcher and Anna Grace Dykes.


Eighth grade: Ian Arnold, Garrett Cahill, Kaylen Fordham, Alesha Ates, Kemarion Hodge, Mattie Stokes, Megan Tingey, Bailey Sullivan, and Lamel Sparrow.

MGA Peacock Gallery to host virtual gallery talk for Abby Newman Pottery Exhibition.

Middle Georgia State University's Peacock Gallery will hold a gallery talk for the Abby Newman Pottery Exhibition via Facebook Live October 12 at 6 pm. You can find the event by clicking the link. The exhibition will be on display October 5 through November 25. Peacock Gallery hours are 8 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8 am to noon on Fridays.
