Red Cross tries to keep everyone safe while still filling the need.

The coronavirus pandemic has increased the Red Cross’s need for clean blood donations. Monday afternoon, they group held a second drive inside the main room of the county extension office. Numerous safety protocols were used to protect those working as well as potential donors. Anyone entering had to have their temperature taken by someone who used fresh gloves and a sterilized thermometer each time. All persons entering were given masks to wear. Those collecting blood also had masks. Tables were set further apart for social distancing purposes. You can read more about the steps being taken to ensure both worker and donor safety by going to redcrossblood.org The next drive in Cochran will be June 15.
