Apologies for things being slow lately. I'm sick, not sure with what, but I feel pretty yucky. Heading to town to pick up an antibiotic this afternoon. I *hope* to feel like covering tomorrow night's basketball game at Hawkinsville, I'll let you know tomorrow.

Cochran Rotary Club Student of the Month.

Nate Knox was recently recognized as Cochran Rotary Club Student of the Month. A senior, Knox is ranked in the top five in his class. He chose Madison Smith as his Teacher of the Month. BCMS Students of the Month.

Bleckley County Middle School recently recognized students chosen by their teachers and peers for showing kindness to others. Sixth grade: Camden Smith, McKenzie Rozier, Dylan Bowman, Ella Hinson, Bayla Giddens, Aniyah Jenkins, Morgan Bonner, Lae'la Harris.
Seventh grade: Kayleigh Sanders, Liam Woodard, Blake Allen, Dalton Bryan, Mack Long, Madison Layfield, Jacqueline Perez, Jayleigh Williams.

Eighth grade: Natalie Sanders, Mason Asbell, Walker Waters, Addyson Warren, Jewel Henderson, Bella Trahan, Jax Pipkin.

Basketball teams sweep Northeast.

Kalyria Jones scored 18 points and Camya Harris had 16 points as the Lady Royals edged the Northeast Raiderettes 56-50. Nykez Farrow scored 14 points as the Royals won 54-32. Bleckley travels to Hawkinsville January 31. Varsity tip time is 6 pm

Good seasons by competition, football cheerleaders celebrated.

It was a different kind of awards banquet for the BCHS Competition and Football cheerleaders Tuesday night. Both groups went to Urban Air in Macon before arriving back at House of Grace for an informal ceremony. The competition squad missed being in the top six at state by half a point. The football squad cheered on Royals football as they again made it to round two of state. Three awards were handed out. First was the Scholar Athlete award. Receiving one was Anna Claire Dean, Jasey Warren, Olivia Floyd, Capri Faulk, Emmy Kay Williams, Anna Kate Wall, Kenzee Dykes, Presley Goins, Mari Angus, Anna Grace Dykes, Kayla Lumley. Taylor Herndon, Annabelle Land, Raylee Braden, Anna Kate Hatfield, Kinley Smith, Kensley Duffey, Taylor Mitchell, Maggie-Grace Evans. (Not all girls pictured.)
The other awards were the Captain’s Awards voted on by the squads. Competition Captain Awards went to: Capri Faulk, Gabbi Wells, and Jasey Warren (Pictured L-R.)

Football Squad Captain Awards went to: Faulk, Bailey Enright, and Anna Claire Dean. (Pictured L-R.) The girls received other gifts including team pictures. Competition cheerleaders received DVD’s of their season. Parents had gifts for both Head Coach Heather Davis and Assistant Coach Anna Brown. Congratulations to all the award winners.
