Lady Barons preparing for softball season.

Tuesday, the teams played in Dublin, they were in Cochran Thursday. BCMS opens the regular season August 7 at home against Pulaski County Middle School.

The Royal Kingsmen Band are selling Krispy Kreme donuts and vouchers for $6 each. Voucher is good for one box of glazed at any Krispy Kreme store location nationwide. Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church to offer food bank for area residents.

Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church will offer a food bank for residents of Bleckley, Dodge, and Pulaski Counties on the fourth Friday of each month at the church's family life center from 4 to 5 pm. Valid ID required, offering is on a first come, first serve basis. While primarily for those receiving government assistance, no one in need will be turned away. Student ministry provides place of worship,fellowship.

Wednesday night, a group of middle school students and adults were in a side room at House of Grace church. It was the weekly gathering for Impact, the church’s middle school student ministry. While normally attended by about 28 students, numbers were lower this night due to things like summer vacation. Impact started a few years ago when the youth programs were divided. What was the UnAshamed youth group became two groups, Impact and Lighthouse for high school students.’
The move came about because of growth in HOG’s youth program. Scott Allen serves as group pastor, along with eight other adult leaders. On many nights, the group engages in Bible study. Tonight was the first of two planned painting nights, providing a chance for relaxation and fellowship. Allen pointed to a box sitting by the stage. It was a suggestion box, read by the adults only. Students can submit anything from prayer requests, suggestions for activities, even specific needs.


Impact is an active group, they attend student conferences as well as fun events like bowling. They meet each Wednesday night at 7 pm. House of Grace is located at 133 Jac Arts Road. Impact is open to any student in sixth through eighth grade. You can learn more about the group by searching for “Impact Student Ministry” on Facebook.
