Macedonia Baptist Church will host "Impact Chester" June 30 from 5:30-8 pm at Chester Park. The event will feature devotions, games, crafts, and a cook out.

(Football pictures courtesy contributor.) Royals football hosted OTA's Wednesday with several other schools including Houston County, Jones County, Upson-Lee, and Veterans High School. That night, First Baptist Church hosted an FCA event that included performances by the FBC Praise Band as well as guest speakers.

Churches hosting Fifth Sunday Night sings June 30.

Two local churches will host fifth Sunday night sing events June 30. Jeff Cleghorn will be the featured musician at Limestone Baptist Church's fifth Sunday night sing. It starts at 6 pm. The church is located at 874 GA 257. Mt. Calvary Baptist Church will also have a fifth Sunday night sing with the combined choirs of Mt. Calvary, Bethany, Lakeview, Salem, and Union Hill Baptist Churches. It also starts at 6 pm. Mt. Calvary Baptist Church is located at 134 Abney Road.

Softball All Stars headed to world series.

(Courtesy BleckleyProgress.com contributor.) The 8u all star softball team finished second in state, winning against Marion County but losing to Jones County. However, Jones County declined to go to the upcoming world series that will be played in Eufaula, Alabama. As a result, Bleckley County will represent Georgia in the Darlings (8u division) as state champions.
