In the end, it's just a game. ***Updated***

Prospex 04 was in Forsyth Saturday for the USSSA Classic Double Elimination, trying their hand in the high school bracket despite being a 14u team. Unlike many tournaments that use pool games for seeding into single elimination brackets, this featured one pool game and at least two bracket games. After winning their bracket opener against Fusion, five runs in the first led to a 9-0 loss against the KZone Rebels.
Prospex though would meet them again, edging the Georgia Girls in extra innings. They forced a second game, winning the first 3-2.

(Photo contributed.) But that game wouldn’t be completed following a collision between two Rebel players, knocking one of them unconscious. Down 2-0, and attempting to rally, the team chose to concede first place to the Rebels. In a show of solidarity, they also prayed with the Rebels for their injured teammate. A text to head coach Kevin Wimberly thanking them for their prayers and help said the player was ok, just a strained neck. Prospex will be at Southern Pines for the USSSA G.R.I.T.S. Super N.I.T.

Volunteers spanned out across the city, Dykes Street, downtown, Porter Road, Limestone, and all areas in between, picking up trash. People could also bring trash and old tires to dropoff locations in town as well as behind the chamber. Organizers said 46 people participated. After working to help make Cochran beautiful, they came back to the chamber for a hot dog lunch.
