Bleckley Elementary students do well in DAR Essay contests.

Two Bleckley Elementary fifth graders recently came away with top honors in the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Essay Contests. Brooklyn Carey and Presley Floyd won the video essay contest. Carey (left) also won the written essay contest.

Another honor for KOH 7u baseball players.

Lane White and Cason Young were two of the three KOHR 7u baseball players to participate in the FPB All Star Tournament played recently in Newberry, Florida. White and Young were named the top duel threat for the 7u division. The duel threat rankings takes the top stats/most points for duel threat duos from each team.

After scoring just four first half points, the Lady Barons outscored the Lady Chiefs 21-5 in the second half, capped by Keyzirah Rozier’s buzzer beating three at the end of the game, to beat J.R. Trippe 25-13. Janiyah Owens had 13 points. The Barons trailed 24-8 at halftime and never got on track in losing 53-21. BCMS hosts West Laurens January 16 at 4 pm.
