Lady Royals rally past Dodge in region opener.
Zoey Adams scored the game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh.
Some games it’s not how much you hit but when. BCHS struggled with runners in scoring position for much of Tuesday’s home region opener versus Dodge County. But they connected when it mattered most.

An error led to a three-run second inning for Dodge. The score remained 3-1 over the next four innings as BC had at least one runner on base in each but couldn’t score. Things begin to change in the bottom of the sixth when a Jalycia Stanley sac fly with the bases loaded drew Bleckley within one.

After working around a one-out double in the top of the seventh, Zoey Adams led off the home half with a double. Augusta Finch was walked intentionally. Alaysia Coley singled, scoring Adams and tying the game. With one out, Jeriayh Evans singled to load the bases.

Senior Natalie Fordham followed with a single into right field, scoring Finch and giving the Lady Royals a 4-3 walk-off win. It was the first career walk-off hit for Fordham.
Finch and Evans both finished 3 for 3. Coley was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Adams was 1 for 2. Region play continues August 20 at Vidalia. Game time is 6 pm.
