Lady Royals edge Gryphons.
Augusta Finch coming home after hitting what proved to be the game-winning home run in the fifth inning.
Going into Thursday’s home game against A.C.E, BCHS sat in fourth place in region 2-AA, right behind the Gryphons. They’d also had the better of the Lady Royals recently, winning the last four meetings.

Down 1-0 in the second, A.C.E. had runners at second and third with one out. With the infield playing in, a ground ball was hit to Jalycia Stanley. She got it to Jeriyah Evans at home for the out. Evans quickly fired to Kate Williams at third to complete the double play.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Augusta Finch came to the plate with two runners on. She sent a ball over the centerfield fence for a a home run and a 3-2 Lady Royals advantage. BC preserved the lead in the sixth by working out of a bases loaded, one out jam. Another double play would seal the deal in the seventh.
Zoey Adams
The Gryphons had one on with one out. Alaysia Coley caught a fly ball in right field then quickly tossed it to Zoey Adams at first to double off the runner and seal a 3-2 win. The victory moved BC to third in the region. Bleckley travels to Wheeler County September 8. Game time is 5:30 pm.
