BCHS welcomed former region rival Jasper County (Monticello) to Cochran Friday night.  The Royals were undefeated against the Hurricanes when teams were in the same region.

Kickoff was delayed by about 45 minutes because of another lightning delay.  BC wasted little time getting on the board.  Brody Fleming connected with Jason McNulty on a 55-yard touchdown strike with 8:27 left.

Late in the first, BC got into Hurricane territory thanks to a 43-yard catch by Gage Harris.  It was turned into a 14-yard touchdown reception by Kelvin Sneed just five seconds into the second quarter.  BC was up 14-0.

The Royal defense got a stop on JC’s next possession, stopping them in fourth and two from the BC 45 with 9:13 left until halftime.

A little over a minute later, McNulty had his second touchdown reception of the night, this time 32 yards.  Fleming’s fourth touchdown pass of the game came a couple of minutes later to Mon Tate, a 37-yard strike.

Another defensive stop to end the half, keeping Jasper out of the endzone on second and goal from the BC 7, ensured a 28-0 halftime advantage.

The Future Dazzlers and Future Color Guard performed with the Royal Kingsmen Band during halftime.

Though the Hurricane defense stopped BC in the third on the JC 29, Bleckley would score later on. It cane via McNulty’s third touchdown catch with 2:38 left.

The Hurricanes finally got on the board in the wanning seconds of the fourth via  a long touchdown run, BC went on to win comfortably, 35-7.  They travel to Emanuel County Institute September 11.  Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
