Some good, some bad with cheerleaders competition debut.

BCHS made their season debut at the 18th annual Raider Rumble hosted by West Laurens High School.  This year’s squad is a mix of seniors and young talent.

Bleckley was the last of eight teams in the 2A division.  Saturday’s lineup included most of the region as well as Fitzgerald and Metter.  A large contingent of friends and family made the short drive to Dexter and roared as the Royals were called to the mat.

Things got off to a good start with tumbling and jumps.  But some of the stunt groups couldn’t stay up.  There were issues with other stunts.  As usual, BC pushed through to do the best they could and finish strong. The crowd gave them another ovation at the end.

Bleckley’s name wasn’t called when trophies were announced.  A look at the score sheet noted the difficulties with execution, including a deduction for hands down when a stunt came down.  But there was no discouragement because nothing happened that couldn’t be fixed.  And there was still excitement over what the routine will look like when it was cleaned up.
