 BankSouth announced a $25,000 contribution through the Georgia HEART Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program to support Bleckley Memorial Hospital and the Hospital Authority of Bleckley County. As a qualifying rural hospital, Bleckley Memorial benefits directly from this program, which allows individuals and businesses to direct a portion of their state income tax liability to support rural healthcare facilities.

State Bank of Cochran, a division of BankSouth, has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Bleckley Memorial Hospital. This contribution will help Bleckley Memorial Hospital and the Hospital Authority continue investing in high-quality healthcare close to home. Through the Georgia HEART Program, Georgia taxpayers can direct a portion of their state income tax liability to qualified rural hospitals in exchange for a 100% state income tax credit, subject to program limits. Businesses may also qualify for additional federal tax benefits. These contributions provide critical funding that helps rural hospitals expand services, invest in technology, and continue delivering exceptional care close to home.
