Royals shut down West Laurens to open regular season.

BCHS opened the season Friday night at West Laurens.  The Raiders were coming off a historic run to the semifinals,.  They graduated 15 starters from the team.  This was the first regular season meeting between the teams since 2023, a 33-28 Raider victory.

Mon Tate

Things got off to a good start when Brody Fleming connected with Gage Harris on a 14-yard pass, giving the Royals a 7-0 lead with 4:08 left.

Zyion Love

Both defenses held serve until the second when WL connected on a 28-yard field goal with 4:04 left in the half.  BC got the ensuing kick near midfield.

Kix Foskey

They capitalized via a Zyion Love five-yard touchdown run with 1:08 left.  Though the Raiders got around the BC 10 late in the half, the clock ran out.  It was 14-3 Royals at halftime.

A good tackle.

The only thing of note to happen in the third was a BC int which was fumbled and led to a Raider first down.  Nothing happened after that.  Scoring was wrapped up by the Royals in the fourth.

Kelvin Sneed

Love’s second touchdown run of the game, a three-yard scoring run, with 7:35 left made it 21-3.  Kix Foskey’s two-yard scoring run capped a 28-3 win.   The defense, which allowed just seven points during the pre-season, held the Raiders to three points.  They allowed 91 yards rushing on 34 attempts and 104 yards passing with one interception.

Bleckley opens the home season August 28 against Cook County.  Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
