A better day for BCHS at Houston County.
BCHS was back at it Saturday afternoon at the Middle Georgia Cheer Classic. They kicked off the final high school session as they were the first of seven AA teams competing. As usual, a good crows of supporters had made the short trip over to cheer them on.
Despite having to adjust from being the last AA team to perform last week to being the first overall to perform this week, the squad was unphased. While there were still places that needed work such as stunts coming down early and an extension coming down early, much of the routine was improved from last week.
Tumbling was crisper. The transitions between the different pyramid stunts were smoother. The pyramid was better executed. Jumps were again good and the energy was good. BC received a loud ovation as they left the mat.
Being the first squad, there was a wait involved to get to awards. This week, they would be something to wait for. Bleckley was announced as second place. Head coach Heather Davis said she was proud of the improvement noting that was their goal, to improve each week.
Bleckley travels to Forsyth for the Mary Persons Cheer Dawg Classic October 3.
