BankSouth’s Angie Kahrmann Elected to Community Bankers Association of Georgia Board of Directors. (Press release.)
COCHRAN, GA – Angie Kahrmann, Divisional Controller for BankSouth, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia (CBA), representing the association’s Southern Division.
Kahrmann’s election was approved during CBA’s Annual Convention, held September 23–27, 2026, in Asheville, North Carolina. Her one-year term began September 28, 2026.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and former Chief Financial Officer, Kahrmann brings more than 17 years of banking experience, including over a decade with State Bank of Cochran, now a division of BankSouth, to the board. Her background includes leadership in both financial and credit operations, providing valuable perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing community banks throughout Georgia. Kahrmann is also active in her local community through Pine Forest Methodist Church.
“I am honored to serve on the CBA Board of Directors and to represent both the Southern Division and the bank,” said Kahrmann. “Community banks have a meaningful impact on the people and businesses in the communities they serve, and I look forward to contributing to the continued strength of Georgia’s community banking industry.”
“Angie’s election to the CBA Board is a well-deserved recognition of her leadership, experience and commitment to community banking,” said Harold Reynolds, CEO of BankSouth. “She brings an understanding of both the financial and operational aspects of banking, along with a genuine dedication to the communities we serve. We are proud to see her represent BankSouth and the Southern Division.”
CBA’s Board of Directors includes community bankers from across the state who help guide the association’s efforts on behalf of its members. Board responsibilities include evaluating proposed legislation and regulations, reviewing services that benefit community banks, and advocating for the continued strength of Georgia’s community banking industry.
“The CBA Board of Directors consists of true community bankers. Those chosen by their peers to serve are amongst the most respected and talented bankers in Georgia,” said John McNair, President and CEO of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia.
