Purple Regin again: Cheerleaders win MGMSAA title.
BCMS hosted the MGMSAA Region Cheerleading Championship Thursday night. It was the first time since 2015. On that day, BC won region, the first of three straight MGMSAA titles for the Barons. Could history repeat itself?
Bleckley was the fourth of five squads to take the mat. The gym was full, the “B” side stuffed with both longtime as well as other supporters. They roared when BC was called to the mat.
Without question, Bleckley had their best performance all season. Everything stuck Stunts, pyramid, it was flawless. Tumbling was smooth, motions with crisp, high energy. The excitement from the girls after the routine completed was visible.
Excitement and tension built when it was time for results. Your 2026 MGMSAA Region Cheerleading Runners Up, Dodge County Middle School! Your 2026 MGMSAA Cheerleading Champion, Bleckley County! The roar of the crowd was so loud it was hard to tell if the DJ said middle school.
Coaches Ashley Baubitz and Kayla Cosette were emotional with pride in their squad. Baubitz said “They started at the bottom.” To finish the paraphrased song lyric, now they’re here. Purple Regin, region champs.
