Bleckley County High School finished runner up at Saturday's state literary competition held at Veterans High School. They were six points behind state champion Bremen.

Winning state titles were: Juliet Cairney, first in personal essay. Hugh Cairney, second in argumentative essay.

Boys quartet. |
The boys quartet of Jayshon Gardner, Demetreon Wells, Noah Shedd, and Luke Wrye were state runners up. Shedd and Carrie Gilbert were third in Oral Interpretation- Duo. Shedd was also fourth in Boys Solo.
McKinley Cranford finished fourth in Rhetorical Essay. Jace Maddox placed fifth in Oral Interpretation- Humerous.
Literary coordinator Kelli Greer said in a text message "I am so proud of each and every one of them."
