The Lady Royals were back in Cordele early Saturday morning for two more Watermelon Classic games. Things didn’t start off well as they lost to Brantley County 7-3.
Against Ware County, BC trailed 3-1 after two innings. A bases loaded, one out situation in the third produced no runs. But three in the fifth, capped by a Clara Rickerson sac bunt put Bleckley on top. Rebecca Bowling and E’Lisia Vickers had back to back doubles in a three-run sixth as BCHS rallied to win 7-3.
Vickers was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI. Bowling went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Reagan Wimberly was 2 for 3. Jordyn Krieg went 2 for 4. The Lady Royals host Washington County August 20 at 5:30 pm. They will have a car wash and bake sale August 24 from 9 am to 1 pm at Citizens Bank of Cochran.
