While Dodge County is in the MGMSAA (Middle Georgia Middle School Athletic Association) Hawskinville is not. So Bleckley County Middle School has had little opportunity to experience the rivalry against the Red Devils as has the high school teams.

That changed Thursday as Bleckley welcomed Pulaski County Middle School to Cochran for a rare non-region contest. The Lady Barons scored the first four points in their game against the Lady Devils. BC led 8-4 after one. A 9-4 run opened the lead to 17-8. Bleckley had a 19-12 lead going into the half.

The Lady Barons were able to keep the lead though PC would cut it to four. BCMS' edge was 25-19 going into the final frame. It was there where the Lady Devils used a 10-4 run to tie the game at 29 on a three-point play with 1:33 left. Neither team scored afterward, so the game went to overtime.

Diamond Farrow goes up for what would prove to be the game-winning basket.

The Lady Devils scored the first four points of overtime. But Bleckley rallied and scored the next four to tie the game at 33. Diamond Farrow's layup with 33 seconds remaining proved to be the game-winning shot as the Lady Barons won 36-33.

Marcus Mack goes up high to finger-roll this basket in.

Zac Moe's three got the Barons started against Pulaski County. The Red Devils outscored the Barons 6-1 to go by two, but an 8-2 run to end the quarter put Bleckley ahead 12-6.

An 11-2 second quarter run by the Barons blew the game open. BCMS had a commanding 25-10 lead at halftime. PCMS would draw to within 26-14 in the third, but Bleckley outscored them 9-3 the rest of the way to lead 35-17 going into the fourth.

BC scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to push the lead over 20. Bleckley went on to win handily, 51-21.
