Cheerleaders finish second in Vidalia.

BCHS traveled to Vidalia Saturday to compete in the Sweet Onion Cheer Classic. While the Royals weren’t terrible by any stretch, they didn’t have their best day on the nat.

The large group of family and friends who made the trip down I-16 cheered loud as BC entered the gym. Things got off to a good start. The partner stunts stayed up, all four stunt groups stayed up.

While there appeared to be timing issues with some of the running tumbling, everything had been sticking. Until the pyramid. The last part of the pyramid didn’t go up at all.

The results would confirm that this wasn’t the best day. Bleckley finished second. A safety deduction cost them the top spot. While there was disappointment, there was nothing that couldn’t be fixed.

The squad with coaches Heather Davis and Allie Smith.

They plan on continuing to work hard and improve each week. The Royals return to action October 23 in Statesboro.
