Lady Royals edge Hawkinsville for first win of season.

BCHS came into Wednesday night’s game at Hawkinsville still looking for their first win. They would rally from an early deficit then have to hold off a Lady Red Devils comeback attempt.

Addison Hill throws to first.


HHS took a 3-0 lead after three innings. After stranding three runners in their first three innings, BC erupted for five runs in the fourth. They added two more in the fifth.

Hawkinsville got one in the bottom of the fifth. The Bleckley offense would be retired in order in the sixth and seventh. HHS loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh and scored twice.

BC got a flyout to end a 7-6 victory. Jada Davis was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. Jana Tomlin was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Addison Hill struck out 10. Region play begins August 13 when the Lady Royals resume their rivalry with Dodge County in Cochran. Game time is 5:30 pm.
