Though BC and Dodge have continued their longtime football rivalry regardless of region, Friday night’s game marked the return of the Royals and Indians being region opponents. Bleckley was going for their sixth straight win in the series but came up short.

Bleckley took advantage of a muffed punt by Dodge to get a safety. But on the ensuing free kick, they were stopped on fourth down at the Indian 49. With 1:53 left in the first, Dodge took the lead on a 44-yard touchdown pass. The extra point was missed.

The Royals would answer in the second quarter. With 7:32 left, Josh Stanley, Jr. scored from five yards out. The PAT was good and BC led 9-6. Their lead though was short lived.

Starting from their own 25, DC got down the field in about three minutes to retake the lead on a three-yard touchdown run. The Indians took a 12-9 lead into the dressing room at halftime.

In the third, Dodge increased their lead with a 28-yard touchdown run on fourth down and increased their lead to 19-9. Early in the fourth, a potential drive by BC ended at the Indian 34 via a fumble.

| The 8u baseball all stars were recognized Friday night. The team finished runner up at the Dixie Youth World Series and also won the Sportsmanship Award. The team was coached by Jed Evans, assistants were Kace Jarrell, Trey Goodroe, Matt Carey. |
They would finally score later on, taking advantage of a Kam Everett to Josh Stanley reception and several Dodge off-sides penalties. Stanley scored his second touchdown with 4:10 left from a yard out to draw BC within 19-16,

BC kicked the ball away. The Bleckley defense held and they got the ball back with 1:57 left at their own 25. They got to the Dodge 27 with about 13 seconds left. Things became a big chaotic as the clock never stopped. According to on-field reports, BC fumbled the ball and the Indians simply ran out the clock to win 19-16.

Dequavis (DQ) Benjamin rushed for 72 yards on 17 carries. Everett ran for 57 yards on 15 carries and was also 10 of 19 for 133 passing. Stanley caught four passes for 72 yards and also rushed for 41 yards on 11 carries.
Defensively, Tug Pasby led with 6.5 total tackles, six solo. Tyrek Mack and Terrollieo Brimidge both had 5.5 tackles, five solo. Bleckley travels to East Laurens August 30. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
