When Mayor Carla Coley began to read several proclamations, she first announced the proclamation for national Hospital week would be read tomorrow. Cochran Bleckley Chamber of Commerce would be providing lunch for hospital employees and the proclamation would be read at 11 am.

The first proclamation read was for National Mental Health Awareness Month. There was no one to receive the proclamation. Chief Brock Wilcher and members of the Cochran Fire Department came forward for the proclamation recognizing International Firefighters Day.

For National Police Week, two proclamations were read. One honoring current police and another to honor those who’d fallen in the line of duty. On hand for both were Chief Jeff Trawick and the family of Officer John Conner.
