Cheerleaders prepare to catch Victoria Paulk as she comes down from a stunt.

The Barons looked to even their region record Thursday against Swainsboro Middle School in Cochran.. Bleckley's defense kept them in the game but the offense could never get on track.

Markell Marshall throws on the move.

A 28-yard field goal with 44 seconds left in the first made it 3-0 Tigers. In the second, Octavious Willliams converted a fourth and four near midfield go keep a Baron drive alive. Swainsboro recovered a fumble on the next play at Bleckley's 47.

Nash Mullis made the catch.

They scored again with 1:48 left in the half, missing the PAT. Keeping the ball for most of the third, another touchdown run but missed conversion made it 15-0 with 1:28 left. In the fourth, the Barons got another fourth and one conversion but the offense would move backwards after.

This return by Deondry Rozier helped set up the Barons lone touchdown.

The Tigers scored with 2:15 left. A two-point conversion was stuffed. Deondry Rozier returned the ensuing kickoff to Swainsboro's 41. Williams scored from 13 yards out with 51 seconds left. A QB keeper on the conversion by Chandler Abney made it 21-8. Swainsboro fumbled on their 39 with 41 seconds left.

Chandler Abney's run got the ball deep into Tiger territory.

BCMS could not capitalize as they lost 21-8. Next Thursday's home game versus Toombs County has a 4 pm kickoff.
