Bleckley Bullets golf tournament was on target.




(All photos courtesy Bleckley County Bullets) Bleckley County Bullets travel baseball held their second annual golf tournament Saturday at Uchee Trail. Organizers said there were 28 teams with over 100 business sponsors. Proceeds from Saturday will go toward season costs such as tournament entry fees for the 9 and 10u teams. In a post on the team's Facebook page, they expressed thanks to everyone who made the tournament a success.

The BCHS boys basketball team was at Dairy Queen Thursday night fundraising for the upcoming season. Team members collected donations and the restaurant will donate a portion of sales. The team thanks Dairy Queen for their support and everyone who donated.

BCHS CTSOs thank community for support of BBQ plate fundraiser.

The Bleckley County CTSOs FBLA, FCCLA, and HOSA want to extend our gracious appreciation for your support of our organizations through our BBQ plate fundraiser. Our students sold over 500 plates allowing many of our students to obtain the ability to attend Fall Motivational Rallies at the Georgia National Fair, participate in fun activities at meetings, as well as attend upcoming competitions and conferences. We could not do this without the support of our community, and we are so appreciative of each of you. Advisors: Melissa Barker, Candi Dykes, Julie Lane, Sheryl Parks. CTAE Director- Matt Godwin.

Lady Royals make a good "catch' of donations at car wash.



The BCHS softball team held a car wash and bake sale Saturday morning at Citizens Bank of Cochran. Unofficial toal made is $1,064. The Lady Royals thank everyone who donated and Citizens Bank for allowing them to hold their fundraiser there.

Softball all stars thanks BW's, community for help with trip to world series.

The 6u softball all star team were at BW's BBQ Monday afternoon collecting donations for their upcoming trip to the Dixie Youth World Series in Eufaula, Alabama. People also stopped by to pick up pre-ordered pork chop and chicken plates. The team thanks BW's for their help with the fundraiser and everyone who purchased plates and donated.

Softball team sells pork chops and chicken to help raise dough.

The 8u softball team held a fundraiser Monday afternoon at BW's BBQ selling pork chop and chicken plates. Proceeds from the sale will go toward their trip to the world series next weekend in Eufaula, Alabama. The team thanks everyone who stopped by to purchase plates as well as BW's for their help in raising funds.

Honeywell thanks community for support following surgery.

Former Bleckley and current Tampa Bay Rays minor league pitcher Brent Honeywell had to undergo surgery recently for a medial epicondyle evulsion fracture. The injury occurred during a bullpen session as he was rehabbing from Tommy John surgery last year. Honeywell is recovering and thanks everyone for the messages of support he’s received following the surgery. He appreciates all who've reached out and says he will overcome the injury and be back on the mound.

The Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce hosted “Putter Madness” June 14 at Uchee Trail. A golf tournament benefiting the chamber, door prizes were given away, and prizes were awarded to the top three teams. Reggie Warren won the putting contest. Winning Closest to the Pin was Chad Bates. Brooke Krieg won longest drive. Scott Bowman won the 50/50 raffle. Team results were as follows. Third place: Davis Propane. Second Place: ComSouth powered by Hargray. First place: Bowman’s 1 Stop.
