BCHS One Act wins fifth straight region title.

Bleckley County High School was the host for Saturday’s Region 2A, Division 1, One Act Play competition. Eight schools competed, making for a long day. After 9 pm, awards were announced. Ava Herrington and Veda Bloodworth made All Star Cast. Anna Grace Dykes was named Best Supporting Actress. Jaxon Davis won Best Actor. But the thing that caused all the BC supporters to erupt in cheer was the announcement that Bleckley won. The region title is the fifth straight for BCHS. They’ll compete for a state title November 15 at Baldwin High School.

Cross Country teams win region.

(Photos contributed.) The Runnin' Royals were the top team at the GHSA 1A Division 1 (Regions 2,5,6,7) sectionals held Saturday morning at East Laurens High School. Both teams also won the Region 2A, Dision 1 Region Title. Lily Farrell was top female, the girls had four of the top five runners. Jack Harrell was top male, the boys had five of the top six. Both teams wrap up the season at state in Carrollton November 8 with the boys racing at 8 am, the girls at 8:45. Click the link to view milesplit.com results from today.

A busy night of Halloween fun.



Cochran was abuzz with Halloween activity Friday night. There were several trucks going through town carrying trick or treaters in the back. Several community locations including the 911 center as well as Bryant Health and Rehab welcomed trick or treaters. Behind the police station was the annual trunk or treat with numerous first responder groups participating. There was also a truck or treat hosted by truck drivers in the Eastgate Plaza parking lot.
