The Georgia Dugout Club announced their postseason All State Teams Monday. BCHS was well represented with six players being selected. Firs team- Pitcher, Braegan Cravey. Infield, Steven Knighton. 8u players- Jaiden Jarrell, Oliver Evans, Purser Garrett, Nate Raley, Zac Carey, Cotton Wheeler, Jace Knight, Jaythan Floyd, Rollins Amerson, Asa Sorensen, Brantley Salaz and Steven Goodroe. Coaches - Jed Evans, Kace Jarrell, Matt Carey and Trey Goodroe

(Photos contributed.) The Cochran Bleckley Rec. Department swept the Diamond Youth and Dixie Youth State tournaments played this past weekend as both the 6u and 8u baseball teams won state on Sunday. The 6u lost to host Wrens in their first game but came back to win the second and the title 14-13. The 8u team beat Wrens 8-1 in the championship game. They got thee with a 13-12 win vs Schley County, who had upset them earlier that morning 6-5. They'll travel to the World Series in Orangeburg. South Carolina July 25.

Dre Day Foundation seeking donations as they try to help kids beat the heat June 26.

Wednesday is expected to be hot with a forecast high of 98. To help beat the heat, the Dre Day Foundation will be giving out slush’s to kids at the corner of Seventh and Ash Street starting at 12:30 pm. Sunset Slush of Cochran will be mixing up a special Dre Day slushy, Donations can be made via CashApp, $ddfdreday9601, or stop by and place your donations in the bucket. There will also be a special on kid’s taco plates.

Softball team wins state, baseball teams getting close.

(Photo contributed.) 8u softball wrapped up an impressive tournament by winning the Diamond Youth State Title 13-1 vs Crawford County. Bleckley run-ruled every opponent they played. Meanwhile at Dixie Youth Baseball State Tournament, 6u edged Crawford County 13-9. They will play at 10: am tomorrow with the championship at 12:30 pm. 8u beat host Wrens 21-7. They are two games away from winning state.
