Royals edge Swainsboro.

The team with coaches Tyler Sellars, Alex Garnto, William Barham and Brad Davis.

It was a scoreless game between Bleckley and Swainsboro Tuesday night until the bottom of the sixth when BCHS got a run on a hit by Jacob Grant. They made it stand up to win 1-0 and the Region 2A, Division 1 championship. Braegan Cravey gave up three hits, five walks, and struck out seven in six innings pitched. Clayton Beck gave up no hits and walk in the seventh and was 1 for 2. The Royals play at Swainsboro April 18, start time 5:30 pm.

Four-goal rally lifts Lady Royals soccer into round two of playoffs.

After taking a 2-0 lead at home against Claxton Tuesday afternoon, the Lady Royals gave up four straight to the Lady Tigers. But BC staged their own four-goal rally to win 6-4. Carys Copeman had two goals including the eventual game-winner, Claira Lynch and Kyla Davis also scored two goals each. Ellen Arnold had an assist. The Lady Royals play at Bacon County April 23. The Royals saw their season end with a 6-0 loss at Metter Tuesday night.

Tennis teams cruise into sweet 16.

BCHS Tennis had little trouble advancing to round two of state as the boys beat Claxton 5-0 and girls beat Metter 5-0 Tuesday afternoon. The boys host Bacon County April 19 at 3 pm.
