Tennis teams win home opener.



(Photos contributed.) BCHS opened the 2024 tennis season at home Tuesday afternoon against Colquitt County. The tiebreaker win by Lilian Barlow and Ashlyn Bivona secured the girls 3-2 victory. Other winners were Payton Carden, Presley Dubois, and August Oliver. The boys won 5-0. Winners were Wyc Herrington, Deacon Farrell, Drew Floyd, John Teston and Bo Yearty, Jay Faulk and Parker Barrs. Bleckley travels to Telfair County for matches against the Trojans and Berrien County. It starts at 4:30 pm.

Pilot Club rewards classes who raised "Pennies for Alzheimer's."




(Photos courtesy Facebook.) Pilot Club of Cochran visited Bleckley Primary Monday to reward classes who had done the best in the Pennies for Alzheimer’s fundraiser with a pizza party and a thank you. One class from all four grade levels (Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, Second) were recognized. Thanks to the efforts of Bleckley Primary along with At Home Senior Living, State Bank of Cochran, and Citizens Bank of Cochran, $1,397.50 will go toward Alzheimer’s to Find The Cure Projects Division co-chaired by Neta Oberry and Sandy Jarrett.
