Local OFTC student gets hands on experience diagnosing transmission issues of trucks.

(News release.) On Friday nights you might see David Grafton logging plays for Royals football. During the week, he’s a Diesel Equipment Technology major at Oconee Fall Line Technical College. Recently, he and other Diesel Equipment Technology Students were getting hands-on experience in the lab, testing the shift bar housing of an Eaton Fuller transmission to troubleshoot an issue of the transmission not shifting between high and low ranges, which can make the truck inoperable to haul freight. Being able to diagnose and troubleshoot the transmission of a truck properly is essential to truck operation. Grafton can be seen on the right.

Called BOE meeting to set tentative millage rate September 21. ***Corrected***

There will be a called Bleckley County Board of Education meeting September 21 at 6:30 pm in the meeting room, 242 East Dykes Street. A tweet sent out by the district states the meeting's purpose is to set the tentative millage rate for 2020.
