Local church cancels midweek services after positive COVID-19 test.

Christ Chapel Cochran announced today that Reverb and C4Kids, its weekly youth and children’s services held on Wednesday nights would be canceled this week. In a video posted on the church Facebook page, Pastor Rich Hulsey said an individual who attended service Sunday morning had tested positive for COVID-19. He said he’d spoken to the person via phone, and they weren’t experiencing symptoms. Hulsey said the decision to cancel midweek services came after meeting with church leaders. He said the building was being thoroughly sanitized and announcement regarding Sunday services would be made later this week.

COVID-19 changing format of annual prayer walk.

The annual Back to School Prayer Walk sponsored by Bleckley Christian Learning Center will be held August 9 at 6 pm at all campuses. However, like many events, COVID-19 has affected it. According to a release, there won’t be an opening ceremony. While people will be free to walk around the outside of buildings to pray, the inside of buildings will be closed. You’ll also have the option to remain in your car. Prayer Guides will be handed out at the parking lot entrance of each school listing personnel.
