Senior Night was held before last night's home football game versus Dodge County. Of the almost 40 students recognized, 22 were either football players or part of the football program. Click for the first of two sets of pictures.

For Bleckley, there's little better than beating longtime rival Dodge County. Not only did the Royals do that on Senior Night, they also clinched a home playoff game in the process.

Downtown Development Authority holding raffle to raise funds for downtown improvements.

The City of Cochran is holding a raffle to raise funds for downtown development projects. Tickets are $10 each. Prizes include a Bayou Classic Dual Patio Stove and Double Griddle donated by Davis Propane plus gift certificates for other goods and services Drawing will be December 7. Tickets can be purchased at Alco Insurance, the Consignment Shop, and Needle N/A Haystack.

Michelle Knighton and Jill Couch were in the Halloween spirit at Lakeview Baptist Church's fall festival held inside the fellowship hall.
Though some outdoor events had to be moved inside due to afternoon storms and cold temperatures, it didn't prevent people from enjoying Halloween Thursday night. Click to view photos.

(Courtesy BleckleyProgress.com contributor.) Members of Cochran Fire Department visited Bleckley Primary Monday and Tuesday of this week to speak to students about various fire safety topics. Children enjoyed the visit, but their favorite part was playing the bucket brigade water game with firefighters.
