High School Sports
Royals Football Players of the Week.

Marcus Brown was named Offensive Player of the Week for Friday's win at East Laurens. Defensive POTY honors went to Ty Williams and Zack Stanley. Bradley Taylor was Special Teams Player of the Week. BCHS returns to action October 25 at home versus Dodge County. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.

Cheerleaders have their best day yet.

Not only did the BCHS competition cheerleaders finish first at the East Laurens Falcon Frenzy, they had their cleanest performance of the season and improved their score by five points.

BCHS HOSA members get experience while helping fill a need.





(Photos courtesy BleckleyProgress.com contributor.) Bleckley County High School HOSA, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, held a blood drive Friday at BCHS. HOSA members gained experience by getting to assist with things like ensuring donors received nourishment following their appointments. The goal of 40 units was reached as 50 were collected. Another blood drive will be held this Monday in the main building of the County Extension Office, 165 E. Peacock Street, from 2-7 pm.

 Middle School Sports
Barons do well despite steep competition.

Though BCMS would hardly qualify as a "large" middle school, the competition cheerleaders were in that division Saturday morning at Statesboro High School's "Battle in the Boro." Facing off against perennial powers like South Effingham, Bleckley finished tied for fourth place. The Barons wrap up their season with region October 29 at Jeff Davis.
