Georgia DOT to suspend lane closures for Christmas, New Year's travel periods.

To help travelers reach their holiday destinations safely, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced they would temporarily suspend lane closures on interstates, major state routes, and roadways near key shopping areas, malls, and retail districts for both Christmas and New Year’s. The suspensions will take place from December 23 at 10 am to December 28 at 10 pm for Christmas and December 31 at 5 am through January 2 at 10 pm for New Year’s. In a release on the DOT website announcing the suspensions, motorists are reminded construction crews may still be active near highways, and some long-term lane closures could remain in place for safety reasons. Also, emergency or incident-related lane closures may still occur at any time, as needed.

A BCHS One Act Christmas tradition continued.



The time-honored Christmas tradition for BCHS One Act took place Thursday night as they closed the year with their annual Christmas Variety Show. It featured solos, group performances, some entertaining dance numbers, and even a couple of live band performances. As is tradition, the show ended with “Let there be peace on Earth.”
