New Peacock Gallery exhibit pays tribute to a friend, former MGA faculty.

An opening reception and gallery talk for “I Miss You Too:
the Giuliano Sonata,” by artist Heatherly Day was held Monday night in Peacock Gallery. It was a unique exhibit, featuring both pottery and a video display. The display featured text messages between Day and her friend Giuliano who was a music teacher on the MGA Macon campus. The pieces on one set of shelves had words from the text messages between the two. Some of Giuliano ‘s piano music was the background music for the video display. He went home to Italy in 2023 after being diagnosed with cancer. One of the text messages show was from his sister texting her about his passing in 2024. Day took one of the pieces, blew in it, then smashed it to the ground. She said blowing in the piece was to symbolize giving it life, smashing it was the death and the grief from death. The exhibit will be there until October 31.

A better day on the mat for BCHS.

This is a contributed photo due to some unforeseen circumstances I was dealing with Saturday. I did take pictures, but most aren't as good due to those same unforeseen problems.
The effort to improve showed as the cheerleaders had a better day at the Blueberry Cheer Classic and brought home their first trophy of the season.
