BCHS opened the state playoffs at home for the first time in four years Monday afternoon.  Their opponent was region foe A.C.E, a team they split with in the regular season.  But the Lady Royals, buoyed by a big crowd who cheered throughout, swept the Gryphons to advance.

Rayea Dominy shows her range in game one.

Game one saw a pair of two-run innings give Bleckley a 4-0 lead going to the sixth.  Though the Gryphons did take advantage of an error to score, BC prevented the miscue from leading to a bad inning.  Bleckley worked around a one-out single in the seventh to win game one 4-1.

In her first high school playoff start, Sarah Vaughn scattered seven hits over seven innings, giving up one unearned run.  Alaysia Coley was 2 for 2 with 1 RBI.  Jeriyah Evans went 2 for 3  with 2 RBI.  Augusta Finch was 1 for 2.

Head coach Haley Holloway goes to congratulate Augusta Finch on her home run in the fourth inning.

Two-run home runs by Coley and Finch in the third and fourth innings capped a pair of four-run outbursts.  BC got three more in the fifth.  A leadoff single in the home half was the only hit given up by Rayea Dominy.  The Lady Royals punched a ticket to the sweet 16 with an 11-0 game two triumph.
