Ribbon cutting for Cochran Community Park held.

Keith Anderson
Kim Fernandez

After years of discussion, construction, and debate, the Cochran Community Park is complete. At least the first phase of it as stated during comments made.. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the park located on Ash Street Monday morning. There were remarks from several people, including Mayor Billy Yeomans, former council member Keither Anderson who chaired the park committee, and Kim Fernandez, a former fourth grade teacher at Bleckley Elementary who’s students wrote letters asking for the park. Land for the park was donated by Earl Arnold. On the “first phase” comment, Yeomans said there would hopefully be additions to the park in the future.
