Tyler Sapp was recognized for being an outgoing Region 5 Officer as well as being selected to Who's Who of Region 5 FBLA. Sapp has been an officer for the past two years.

The Bleckley County High School FBLA Chapter traveled to Atlanta March 23-25 for this year’s State Leadership Conference. Making the trip were advisors Melissa Barker and Julie Hutto, along with members Olivia Williams, Caitlyn Woods, Tyler Sapp, Alex Nesbit, Shy Chambers, Naomi Rodriguez, Emily Allen, Jordan Schronce, Amanda Kight and Jillian Green.

Jordan Schronce and Jillian Green will be serving as Region 5 Officers next year.

At SLC, members can participate in competitions, attend, and host workshops. Our chapter presented a workshop entitled “Great Expectations to Great Destinations.” Its focus was on the do’s and don’ts of travel etiquette including proper tipping habits and amounts, elevator manners, being a good neighbor in a hotel environment, how to act in a workshop or conference room setting and more.

Some of our members received special recognition. Tyler Sapp was recognized for being an outgoing Region 5 Officer as well as being selected to the Who’s Who of Region 5 FBLA. Jordan Schronce was recognized for completing the America Level of the Business Achievement Award. She and Jillian Green attended Officer Training part one and will be Region 5 Officers next year.

Juliet Cairney.

Congratulations to all our members who participated in state competitions. We had several who placed in events. Tucker Felkins was tenth in Agribusiness. Juliet Cairney finished eighth in Journalism. Alex Nesbit placed sixth in state in Database Design & Application. Tyler Sapp, Jordan Schronce, and Caitlyn Woods finished second in the state Monopoly tournament. Finishing first and qualifying for national competition was Allyson Burke in Spreadsheet Applications.

Tucker Felkins.

Nationals will be held this summer in Baltimore. We’re also excited to announce that the BCHS FBLA Chapter was ranked in the top ten percent of chapters in the state for Division 2 (schools with 1,000 or less students.) We were recognized as a Superior Gold Chapter and was fifth for overall Chapter of the Year. We’re very happy with the results and will strive to do even better next year.

BCHS FBLA advisors Julie Hutto and Melissa Barker.
