In the previous game against Washington County, the Royals rallied from 5-0 down only to lose 6-5. But in Tuesday’s rematch, BCHS rallied then held off a comeback attempt by the Golden Hawks.

Down 3-1 after an inning, single runs in the fourth and fifth tied the score. RBI singles by Noah Wimberly and Cody Dennis in the sixth put BC on top. Waco got within one on a solo home run in the sixth. Carter Raffield made his season pitching debut in the bottom of the seventh.

The bases were loaded with two outs following an error, a walk, and intentional walk. Raffield got his second strikeout to end the game, preserving Bleckley’s 5-4 win. He was also 1 for 2. Tripp Purser struck out nine in six innings. Dennis and Steven Knighton each went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI.
