Track Teams Celebrate Season.

As part of one of the best sports years in recent memory for BCHS, both the boys and girls track teams had good seasons. Both finished region runner up and sent a total of 15 athletes to state. Team members and families gathered to celebrate the season Monday.

Kerbo To Coach Putnam County Boys Basketball Team.
Cliff Kerbo announced last month he would not return as boys basketball head coach. He never said the words "retire.' Kerbo will be back on the sidelines next fall. BCHS Ranked Sixth In Director's Cup Standings. ***Corrected May 17***
It's been a good year athletically for BCHS. Nine teams won region (Baseball, cheerleading, girls basketball, boys cross country, girls country, boys tennis, girls tennis, boys golf, girls golf.) Five others finished runner up (football, softball, boys basketball, boys track, girls track.) Plus the boys basketball team finished state runner up. Royals well represented on All Region Baseball Team. ***Corrected***
Five Bleckley players were first team selections to the 4-AA All Region Baseball Team. They were Caleb Slaughter (first base), Frankie Mullis (second base), Austin Simmons (third base), Dylan Churchwell (pitcher), and Bryant Trice (outfield.) Three more were honorable mentions. Austin Williams (pitcher) Cal Young (shortstop) and Tavon Ross (outfield.)

Mullis To Continue Cheerleading Career At Mercer.

| Kristin Mullis has acheived many honors in her career as a BCHS Cheerleader. They include being all region selection, being voted Most Valuable Cheerleader by her squadmates, and being a part of three consecutive region championship squads. Mullis now has another honor, Mercer Bears cheerlader. She received a scholarship after trying out and making the squad earlier this month. Mullis becomes the seventh BCHS cheerleader to continue her career in college. |
