Good news after medical scare for Sara Beth Martin.

| Sara-Beth Martin, just ten years old, had already endured a liver transplant. Her GGT (Gamma-glutamyl Transferase) numbers had gone up recently and would not go down despite an increase in anti-rejection medication. Monday, the family traveled to Atlanta for a liver biopsy. Tuesday afternoon, they received the best news. There was no rejection of the liver. Sara Beth's mom, Becky says there will be tweaking of medications and monthly lab visits for drawing blood. Becky would like to thank everyone for their prayers, texts, and Facebook posts of of support. |

BCMS football team says thanks for End Zone Club membership drive support.
The BCMS football team would like to thank people for their support of the End Zone Club Membership drive. It was successful, and the club recieved many memberships. The money from those memberships will pay for things the team needs this year. Head coach Mike Lee and the rest of the team thank the community for their support.

BCPS and BCES Recognized as Distinguished Schools.
Bleckley County Primary School and Bleckley County Elementary School have recently been named Title 1 Distinguished Schools. Both schools will receive a special school sign and flag as well as a monetary award. Principals Quent Floyd and Janet DeLoach would like to thank the parents, teachers, students and community, for all of their support and hard work in helping achieve this outstanding award.

BCHS Freshmen Honors Class students raise funds for Arts Alliance remodeling.
Students in the Freshmen Honors Class bagged groceries this past Saturday and Sunday bagging groceries and collecting tips at Piggly Wiggly. Funds collected went toward remodling of the Cochran-Bleckley Arts Alliance. They raised $425 over the two-day period. Students working were project coordinator Madison Phelps as well as Trevor Barker, Anjali Patel, Allison Pruett, and Daniella Thomas. The Honors Class thanks Piggly Wiggly for their support.
